Under the direction and leadership of the Manager, Software Engineering we are seeking a Mobile Apps Lead, Software Engineer join our Digital Services department in Calgary or Edmonton, Alberta.

This is a key hands-on role, as the Mobile Apps Lead, you’ll utilize your technical expertise to provide mentorship and solutions to technical problems and ensure the DevOps toolchain and process is being leveraged to its full capability.
Responsible for the platforms necessary to support the development and operations lifecycle.
Continue to develop and maintain training and process documentation in relation to the DevOps toolchain.
Accountable for all platforms that support the delivery of mobile solutions, includes, but is not limited to, system configuration, ongoing testing and maintenance, and new feature implementation.
Support the development team with troubleshooting and providing technical solutions
Maintain coding practice through Pull Request reviews
Ensure the team is following latest coding best practices as relates to formatting, styling, test coverage, and cyber security compliance
Ability to break projects down to into smaller working projects and assign to the right developer, designer, or tester.
Work with Product Owners to define requirements, user stories, and to help ensure fully vetted.
Assist with developing product roadmaps.
Establish schedules, estimates, and delivery timelines.
Ability to respond to and proactively follow up on urgent customer concerns and system incident management.
Provide 1 on 1 mentorship.
Contribute to a team of highly motivated developers, architects and UX resources
Stay abreast of business, industry and global trends and understand the impact of those changes on the business and technology in ATCO
Listen and work with other teams to ensure agile and responsive evolution of technology
Entrepreneurial mindset that is results &amp; profit oriented with a desire to create or build new business
In depth understanding of software development including experience with Google Cloud Platform, Xcode (Swift), Android Studio (Kotlin), Flutter, Microsoft App Centre (CI /CD), Azure, and NODEJS.
A drive to maintain a usable DevOps tools chain to ensure speedy, scalable, and highly supportable delivery of solutions to market
Business mindset with very good numerical &amp; analytical skills, and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, creating efficiencies and economies of scale
You’re a tenacious problem solver with excellent organizational and planning skills
You’re a people person. Seriously – we can’t stress this enough. You’re all about building and maintaining awesome relationships with team members, customers, colleagues, vendors and practically anyone else you meet. Well-honed people skills and business finesse are essential.

Education and Experience
Undergraduate degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering
5 to 7 years of experience developing mobile applications for both iOS and Android
Experience developing architecture to support the front and backend of mobile experiences.
Experience leading and inspiring a team.
